Don't really know about that but if you really wanted to play pirated games then you would probably benefit more from homebrew with tons of applications and piracy tools at your disposal.
Honestly the main con would be to get banned from psn from sony.
But this doesn't have to be an issue if you don't care about online play anyways, you'll still get updates.
Getting bricking is always a possibility with modding just about any console in general but as long as you know what you're doing and following the procedures all the way through this doesn't have to be an issue.
