Digital games and DLC

Naturally, those are hard to preserve. But it's certainly worth the effort. Especially since this problem isn't going away, if anything it's getting worse as many titles are digital only. Stores close down, licenses expire. I'm very pleased that the WiiWare and Virtual Console libraries are being archived online even when the companies left them to burn, but what about de-listed PS3 games? Could we save the DLC from certain licensed games? You guys would know more about this type of stuff than me, tell me about these problems and what more can be done to solve them.
