duckstation controller problem

I promise I looked in the FAQ and at recent message board posts but didn't see anything about this. I'm using a HORI PS4 game controller and a PC with Duckstation. The HORI worked fine on my old retired PC but I just got a new laptop and now it doesn't get recognized anymore. On the new PC the same controller is recognized by PPSSPP so I know it's connected. I tried looking at Settings and Controllers changing from digital to analog, from port 1 to port 2, etc and no luck. Anybody have experience or suggestions about this?
