1st of all this is the ps2 version just to clarify, but i think i found a temporary way to get around it. When the game has a tutorial type window pop up like telling you how to grab a weapon or do a finisher, thats when it freezes. But if you press the start button and quit the fight, then start it again the game wont have the window pop up again. So basically everytime a tutorial window pops up quit the match and start it again. Obviously its still not working properly but at least i can play it now lol.
The game loads up fine but when you start the story and fight your first fight, a screen pops up saying someone in the crowd has a weapon and you can grab it. it always freezes when this pops up.
