Stunt racer fx, 3D snes game, works choppy

I tried a game called stunt race fx (damn brings back so many memories ;)) however I can't get it to work well, when the game is two players it is the absoloute pits (way to glitchy) when it is single player it is playable but has lots of artifacts that develop on screen.
can anyone help me with this problem?
