Dragon quest VIII (PS2), very long but good if not great, depends how u see it
also for what platform u want that JRPG, just saying
cause here u have like 13 or more of them
From NES to PS3 etc, too many good choices to pick from honestly
Ni no kuni, if its here
Lost Odyssey is another good or great one, depends on you XBOX360
or Chrono Cross for PS1
Star Ocean PSP or Phantasy star portable for psp or Phantasy star universe PS2
or YS Seven PSP or YS VI PS2 if u want some kinda action oriented ones
or even i like these (plays like a diablo, but different) Shining force EXA or NEO PS2, or for dreamcast and gamecube skies of arcadia or something like that, maybe too for PS2 
As i was saying too much of them, i mean the good ones.
Also u can go the classic way and pick Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIII probably these, maybe here are even the older ones VI V IV, dont know.
All depends what do u want to play on, Dolphin, Redream, PPSSPP, PCSX2, Duckstation, Tell me that and maybe ill get to u with a more specific recommendation. These were just from top of my head.
