You've got the right emulator.  You just need the right version of the ROM.  Vimm's Lair carries v1.0 of the ROM.  The only MMX ROM without this "hiccup" is v1.1.  :-(

I feel bad because i feel as tho im complaining a lot but...The game megaman x 1 is completly messed up!! Ive downloaded it like 7 times and each time a play a level(besides the very first one) I shoot a monster and it will just immediatly give me the power to the stage and teleport me back to the very first level.. Its confusing so Vimm if You or one of the more common users of Vimm.net Wants to test this Please tell me wat is wrong.
