WWE 2K16 and 2K17 not working [PS3]

I have downloaded both of these games and upon starting them the only thing i see is a black screen and a wwe logo at the right bottom corner spinning. You would think that the game would open after a few minutes however the spinning logo disappears after 10-15 seconds and im left with a black screen. I waited for 10 minutes but nothing seemed to change. I tried everything from updatinh the game to rebuilding my database however it still stays the same. I'm pretty confident that I have downloaded the files correctly. Even if i were download one wrong then at least one of them would work right? The only weird thing i have noticed was that for every other wwe game i had downloaded before (wwe2k14,wwe12) when i would open the game for the first time it would 'Install Game Data' however that didn't happen to me with 2k16 and 2k17. Is the rom broken or have I done something wrong?
