HD-DVD addon for Xbox 360 drops to $50

Now that Microsoft has officially dropped HD-DVD, their HD-DVD player for the Xbox 360 has dropped to $50. Might be of some interest to some people. I hear it comes with King Kong in HD-DVD and qualifies for 5 Free HD-DVDs by mail.

Well, according to everything I read, Nintendo had that same problem after releasing the NES. The fact is, when you release a game console to the consumer market, it's a huge investment, and it takes a long while before any profit comes out of it, even if it is very successful. That's just the way the video game industry works.
However, if Sony *did* release the PS3 expecting it to pull themselves out of debt immediately, then yes - they were fooling themselves. :-)
