It was also the last decade where you could reasonably assume that if you purchased a physical copy of a single player game, the game would be on the disc and you could play it through completely without requiring an internet connection.

now hear me out, the 2000s was a different era for gaming. there was like gamecube, OG xbox, PS2 and etc. and all of them had absolute masterpieces. gamecube had mario sunshine, SA2, PS2 had GTA:SA, and OG xbox had halo, star wars battlefront 1 & 2 and
much more. man, those days were good. imagine going to your friend's house, and playing those games. man, i wish we were in that era.
