Personally I've rarely used anything other than Vimm's for ROMs, but there are several other sites.
A few years ago, before Vimm hosted Japanese titles, I would search other sites (including various Torrent sites) for such ROMs, but none ever felt as safe and reliable as Vimm's...
I could name a few other sites but since I have no idea if they're actually safe I'll leave that to someone with more knowledge than me.

Also I'd just like to add that I don't think we need to get all "doomsday is coming" about this DMCA situation, but your question is fair in case you are looking for some of the games that were taken down.

Hope this isn't incredibly rude to ask, but as someone newish here, what other sites can one find ROMs for NES games? Hate that I even have to ask that, after everything Vimm has given to game preservation.

I hope if nothing else he knows what incredible work he did for archiving the history of this art form.
