Yeah I just registered, but just wanted to say, that upon closer inspection it becomes pretty clear that this is yet another DMCA trolls attack.
Many games from Sonic franchise got taken down by so called "Sega Corporation". If it was really Sega, than why only western releases of their games got deleted, while Japanese versions are all intact? You can check right now that all JP versions of Sonic games are still available on the website. Also, Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) has all its versions available across all platforms.
Long story short: Somebody set a bot that targeted everything that has "Sonic" in it's name.

Vimm's Lair has been asked to remove many games from The Vault on behalf of Nintendo, Sega, Lego, and the ESA. While most of these games (and the hardware to play them) haven't been sold in decades, ultimately it's their prerogative so these games are now gone for good.
