I agree with Jig. I have a Soft modded Xbox and it is the way to go if all you really want to do is pimp it out for playing Roms. If I can find the links I used to get mine started Ill post them up here.

I'd recommend getting an old black Xbox and soft modding it. I have one that is hard modded and it can play NES, SNES, Genesis, all sorts of systems. But you'll have to set it all up yourself so you have to be technical. Google FCE UltraX and soft modding an Xbox.
