Re: With the NS2, what happens now?

Console generations are tricky, and placing Nintendo consoles in these generations is especially tricky. Wikipedia, for instance, places the Wii U, 3DS, and Switch all together in the eighth console generation, and the Switch 2 in the ninth generation. Regardless, the FAQ answer is not a hard and fast rule based on any rigid generational differences, it's just there to ward off people who might otherwise spam threads asking for modern games. I would expect Wii U and 3DS games to be added at some point this year myself, although it's ultimately up to Vimm and he can decide to do whatever he likes with his own website. If you're impatient, Myrient is another website that has No-Intro and Redump verified archives, and they already have Wii U and 3DS games.

Ok so with the release of the NS2, and as per the FAQ, the Wii U is now two generations old, which means at SOME point it will be added as a console to the vault, but what about the 3DS and 2DS? I mean, technically the 3DS came out before the Wii U, so when the NS1 dropped that made it 2 gens old but we never had it added, and while the 2DS came out AFTER the Wii U making it only 2 gens old now, it was still essentially the same console as the 3DS (from my understanding). I guess I am just wondering will we ever get the 3DS since according to the FAQ we should have been able to have it added when NS1 came out?
