I still had my HD and controllers from my old dead system. Also I checked Microsoft's 360 site and discovered that it is now possible to transfer the digital rights for all of my old downloaded content over to my new system.
I have a pretty decent collection of Arcade titles and other content on my old HD. When I tried using it on my friends 360 it would only recognize my games as demo versions unless I was logged into LIVE. By transferring the digital rights to my new console I will be able to use my downloads on and offline.
