You need to have a jailbroken console to play game backups on original hardware. It is very easy to do this on 360 with the Bad Update hack, however.

There are other more permanent jailbreaks, however they require hardware mods.
i put a bunch of XBLA games from Vimm on my 360 but they all show up as corrupted. how do fix this? do i need to mod the console or can i play them without doing that? Should i connect it to internet or will microsoft eradicate my bones if i do that?
