That game isn't DSi-enhanced as far as I can find. It might just be a problem with your flash cart not supporting Japanese games for whatever reason.

You can try getting a different DS flashcart, but jailbreaking the 3DS and installing custom firmware isn't as hard as you might think, and it would allow you to run DS software natively from any 3DS-compatible SD card, as well as 3DS and GBA software, and even emulators for other consoles. to be fair, i think a few of the games i downloaded said they where enhanced for the dsi, so that probably doesnt help. no clue what the model of my flash cart is (it just came with one of those x games in 1 card things my dad got for me when i was younger), but im playing these games on a pal region new 3ds xl. i think the game i wanted to play the most out of the ones that wouldnt work was kawaii koneko. i dont know whether its dsi only or not, but im hoping it isnt because i dont really know how to use hacks.
