oh okay fair enough! maybe ill buy myself a new flash cart for christmas.
That game isn't DSi-enhanced as far as I can find. It might just be a problem with your flash cart not supporting Japanese games for whatever reason.
You can try getting a different DS flashcart, but jailbreaking the 3DS and installing custom firmware isn't as hard as you might think, and it would allow you to run DS software natively from any 3DS-compatible SD card, as well as 3DS and GBA software, and even emulators for other consoles.
