It's funny you should mention zombies, because not too far back, I did write a little bit of story about plant-like zombies. It was based on a dream I had some weeks ago, and it's a dark-humored satire of old monster movies of the 1960s. It even had a heroine named Ezmeralda. The story was called "The Green Plague". It's actually written in teleplay form, as I plan for it to be a Twilight Zone story. It's a challenging project - having it use the 1960s movie elements, but still remaining within the budget of a TV episode.
