Sounds like Shatterhand for the NES.  The character uses his fists not a sword.  The alpha/beta weapon thing is definitely Shatterhand.  It should be in The Vault.

LONG BACK I PLAYED A GAME.I DONT REMEMBER ITS NAME.WE HAVE TO HIT ENEMIES WITH OUR SWORD.WE FIND POWERS & WHEN WE HIT IT WE GET A POWER BOX & IT WILL BE CHANGING TO ALPHA,BETA & GAMMA IN SYMBOLS.WHEN WE COLLECT IT IN A SET OF 3 WE GET A SPECIAL ASSISTING WEAPON. LIKE ALPHA,ALPHA BETA=SPL WEAPON.I DONT REMEMBER ITS NAME.CAN U GUYS PLEASE TELL ME ITS NAME & LET ME KNOW WHERE CAN I FIND IT!!!!!!!!
