Can anyone help

I have been playing snes roms and gba roms for a long time but i wanted to try and set it up so i can play my games on a network. I got it all set up but now when i try to load a game that is patched it comes up and is still in japanese or whatever language the dl was in. Can anyone tell my how to get my patched games to work properly over a network? Oh and i already made sure i had the patches named properly as well as the games. "Only old timers use quotes...."
