Questions (maybe i'm not best guy to make roms)

PSX emulator from this site is excellent, it is the first one I've ever gotten to work, and I've been trying since my PS2 bit the dust and i lost access to Final Fantasy Tactics.
I've run a few games, they all look great, in both windowed and fullscreen mode. When i exit a game, however, it seems like it continues to run, the sound is certainly still heard in my speakers and the emulator window is definitely closed. The only way I can get it to stop is a reboot of the entire system. It does not appear in device manager.
Windows 7, if that helps anyone.
How difficult is it to extract a ROM from the original game? I have Metal Gear Solid and would be happy to share it, as a small contribution to a site that has provided me with countless hours of entertainment over the years. My programming experience = 0
