FFTactics wonky

I've found the FFTactics ROM to be a little goofy visually. In menus there are shadows of other options or sprites, the see-thru text at the beginning of chapters creates a garbled block around the text block and the map of Ivalice is only visible while moving between destinations; it is a black screen otherwise. Could this be the emulator?
