Dargon quest 7 rom problem

Downloaded the emulator and the ROM. But can't seem to get it to run. The file does not appear to be iso, or whatever option it gave me to load from the file menu. I am new to this, so I am probably just making some simple mistake I am sure. But I haven't figured out what I am doing wrong yet. I read in a different post that the file icon is supposed to have a picture of a cd on it. Not seeing that either. Under the properties of the file, its not saying what type of file it is. ??
