Re: playing on a ps1

I do not believe there has ever been a softmod for the PS1, only hardmods requiring soldering on mod-chips or buying a parralel-port peripheral. I used to have one of the parallel-port peripherals, I think it was called Game Gizmo. It didn't work 100% and because it required you to perform a hot-swap it usually failed to continue multi-disc games when the 1st disc ended (it's why I never beat Chrono Cross). I ended up mainly using it for the NES emulator for the PS1. If you have a PSP with CFW you could convert the .iso into an eboot, but it's not 100% and if Sony finds out they'll come looking for you.

Does anyone know of a way you could take these downloads and mount them to a disc to actually play it on the original console? Emulators are nice but i want to see if i can make use of the old ps1 i have, and a handheld controller is better for these games imo
