It seems to be working for me on Nestopia for Windows.  I used the Character 1 codes befor eI started the game for 255 HP, 99 STR, 99 INT, 99 VIG,and 99 LCK and all worked. 

I got my cheats in a package from this site here: http://www.mightymo.net
So I would first recommend downloading that pack it's only 400KB, importing the final fantasy xml in the cheat menu, check which codes you want activated and see if those codes work.

Hey, new to emulators, and I'm trying to punch in the game genie codes for final fantasy (using Nestopia for mac) and they're just not working. Help?
