Will searching by publisher really help find a game similar to one you already like? I mean, I like Tales of Phantasia, but that doesn't mean I should be interested in Tekken or Ridge Racer (Namco).
I think being able to sort games by genre would be better. Or maybe ripoff Penny Arcade's DECIDE-O-TRON App to help you decide what game to play next only for older systems.
If you do a search for a company, remember that some research on the companies always helps out. Sometimes a company will create and publish a release under a different company name (Atari made games for Nintendo and Sega under the name "Tengen", for example). A search engine won't show these extra games for you unless you tell it to. :-)
