We should have started killing them all off hundreds of years ago; we would have less problems.  I still dont think its correct though.  U can't just leave it starting with the word we. Maybe a conjunction like then or maybe combine the sentences OR make it into 2 sentences like so.... We should have started killing them off hundreds of years ago. I merely said your proficiency or lack thereof in prose and its techniques is insufficient to competently gauge the requisite of one Johnross' use of the semicolon. It is used to conjoin (which it did) two related independant clauses (which they were) where the use of a full stop/period would sound awkward if read normally (i.e. one sentence would be really small) unless explicitly intended for emphasis or tone. So it was right; props 2 u JR *slap, slap, five, knuckles, shake, psshh* WANT SUM CHEETOS
