Is this firewall built into Windows?  That's always the first one hackers learn to bypass, since everyone has it.  You might check for Freeware firewalls as an alternative.

Thanks, That's good advice. I'm not sure if I had a firewall back then, but I do now, so it should be fine. Thanks for your help :)
