Anyone here try to tackle Daggerfall?

I recently downloaded the DosBox/Daggerfall file that they attached together and have been playing a few hours. Took ME FOREVER to just get out of the starter dungeon alive. I had to abuse the custom character builder to just no get past the f*(%ing plague which initially killed me if I tried to fast travel to the nearest town... where once successful everyone hated me for some reason. On top of trying to get to a temple or find some potion of the sort I would pass out every ten minutes. Hard ass game if you ask me.
