Au contraire, the site's been around since 1997. Says so right on the front page! I don't have a trademark on Vimm or anything so feel free to use it. I thought of it earlier in 97, it's a derivation of the word vim. I know there's a variation of the vi text editor called vim, and I once met a guy named Vimal, but otherwise it's a fairly unique name.
