Re: project 64

After a bit of studying I've created a .msi installer for Project 64. It's very basic for now and creates a start menu folder and desktop icon. It's also a bit smaller to download without the adware.

Now that I have the template I may make one for Mupen64Plus too. I've skipped version 2.0 since it's command line only which is a huge turn-off for most people, but there is a GUI plugin for it. I think I'll try adding the GUI then package it all up in a .msi installer.

I just re-downloaded Project64, the last time I used it there wasn't adware and I wasn't expecting any. By the time the installation was complete, Malwarebytes had already quarantined an .exe from AppData. I just pressed next obliviously, because I figured an Emulator dev (especially a popular one like P64) wouldn't do something like that. :\

I'd recommend contacting the author of the emulator, asking him if packaging your own installer would be okay. If he says no, link to the download page on their website, but warn users it has adware in it.

It'd be nicer of the dev to put a simple Donate button somewhere on the installer and maybe in the About window, not bundling adware with a legitimate piece of software. Oh well.
