I appreciate the offer but I can cover it. Those books are simply a normal hard drive in a sealed enclosure, and I already have a fast docking station. After 20 years it wouldn't kill me to make a permanent backup though. One thing I've learned from maintaining Vimm's Lair is to buy Hitachi hard drives. They cost a bit more, but they last sooo much longer. Perhaps I've gotten spoiled...

Not a bad idea, and as much as I know you generally don't want donations, I know I'd be happy to chip in if it ever boiled down to needing to cover some overhead on this. Been coming for nearly 15 years, and would hate to lose this gem you've built!
