I've got a soft spot for translations. Final Fantasy 3 is my favorite RPG and when I learned about a Final Fantasy 5 translation I was dying to play it, but my computer couldn't run it full speed. Emulation made translations possible and I want to support them.
They are the original unmodified ROMs. Vimm's Lair is about being true to the games as they were originally released. But as to why the Japanese-to-English translations also exist in the vault ... Well, I'll have to leave that answer to Vimm. :-P
