It seems like we'll have to wait a while for this, sadly... although I would like to point out something to Vimm:
Even if you're not convinced the Switch is the 3DS successor, isn't the DS old enough by now going by the same logic of Wii being old enough? You can basically pair up the home and handhelds systems the following way:
Gameboy = NES/SNES
Gameboy Color = N64
Gameboy Advance = Gamecube
DS = Wii
3DS = Wii U
(and then I'd say Switch=Switch but I guess that's still not official)
Based on this, if you're allowing Wii games, shouldn't you allow DS games too? It would make sense, going by release year and correlation between home/handheld consoles, at least.
Of course, you're free to decide whatever you want. And I won't post about that anymore, just one final try since I see I'm clearly not the only one waiting for this.
When will the DS be added as a handheld?
