Try 7zip for 7z or updated Winrar .rar

I've downloaded multiple games for PS1 and most of them work great, just extract them and play, but there are a few here and there that aren't letting me extract them, i've tried 2 different programs for this, WINZIP and AWEZIP on my laptop. It says I cant extract the file, any ideas as to why? The 2 games that didnt work are Twisted Metal 2 and Warcraft 2 for the Playstation 1.
