Game Description:
Sonic the Hedgehog is a platforming action video game. Developed by Sonic Team in 1991, the blue blur himself would become one of gaming's universal icons, and became the first series to stand as a serious rival to Nintendo's Mario series, flaming the legendary console wars.
A classic 2-D side-scrolling platformer, you control Sonic, a blue-colored hedgehog that runs pretty darn fast across the stages (zones as they are called in the game). Scattered throughout the zones are golden rings that Sonic can collect, which allows him to not only take damage, but allow access to special stages. If completed, the special stage will grant Sonic one of six Chaos Emeralds.
Dr. Ivo Robotnik, an evil genius, realizes the power of the Chaos Emeralds, and wants them for himself. As such, Robotnik traps the innocent woodland creatures of South Island. In response, Sonic attempts to free the creatures and collect the emeralds for himself in order to stop Robotnik's plans.

Hack Description:
This is a hack which makes Amy Rose the primary character in the original Sonic the Hedgehog for Genesis. It is classic Amy designed after her Sonic CD appearance.
Amy's moves are inspired by those used in her Sonic Advance appearance. She is slower than Sonic, can't use spin attack but has other moves. An attack button has been added and other moves can also be performed by using combinations of buttons and directional pad presses. A complete move list is found in the readme.
This has been tested on a 1.0 version ROM in BIN format. It has not been tested for compatibility on other formats or other revisions. The patch is in xdelta format due to shifted data resulting in a ips patch larger than the ROM itself.
==Revision 1.9==
* Physics are closer to Advance 1. Halting while ducking is less jerky and the hammer spin is now a slow descent.
* Decided to add upward dash. Hold up and jump to charge like with super peel out.
* Added ability to hammer switches and egg prison buttons I overlooked from Advance.
* Collision issues with hammer downplayed. Attacks also work when Amy actually lands the hammer.
* Loads of palette fixes. Far less pink this time round.
* Rev 01 graphics added (e.g. extra scrolling and level select order fixed).
* A few minor bug fixes added.
==Revision 2.0==
* The hearts are now separate sprites and flow properly just like in Advance. Special thanx to Selbi, Snkenjoi, Flamewing and Shockwave677 for coding help.
* A couple more bug fixes and palette tweaks (both the roller glitch and the bumper colour mentioned above are fixed).

*Fixes Rev 01 background errors and some glitches stemmed from hammering under certain circumstances. Special thanx Selbi.
