Game Description:
Shadowrun is an action role-playing game for the Sega Genesis, released in 1994 in North America and Asia only. It was adapted from the cyberpunk role-playing game Shadowrun by FASA, and was developed by BlueSky Software. The game is the second video game adapted from Shadowrun, and has a more open ended style of gameplay than its 1993 Super NES counterpart, Shadowrun by Beam Software.
Hack Description:
While in the Matrix, activating a Tar Pit IC by failing to run a program results in the failed program being permanently deleted. Naturally, this is the point where players reset (or use silly tactics like buying feeder programs to get past them. Shudder). This patch removes all but one* of the Tar Pits from the game, replacing them with the weaker Tar Paper variants.
* A single Tar Pit remains in the game. It has been placed in the Seattle General Hospital system, in the first accessible IOP node from the SAN (directly below it on the system map). Since the game provides no method of deleting programs from your deck once created, Tar Pits are sometimes used instead. Beware!
