Balloon Fight is an action game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. This is an arcade style game that features three game modes.

Game A is the main game where the player controls a character with a pair of balloons attached to him. The player is able to fly through the air by rapidly tapping A or holding down B. Hitting the birds' balloons is the objective of the player. When a bird's balloon is popped, it floats to the ground where it will attempt to refill a new balloon. At this time, the player must knock the bird into the water. Once all of the birds have been defeated, the player moves on to the next level. When a bird or other obstacle hits the player from above, one of the player's balloons pop. If both of the player's balloons are popped, the player loses a life.

Game B is a two-player version of Game A.

Game C is called Balloon Trip. In this game, the player flies through the sky avoiding enemies and obstacles. Getting hit by anything will end the game.

In this new Balloon Fight level hack, the balloon fighters once again discover new worlds and challenges as they continue to battle for their lives.

This hack was not originally planned to have been developed so soon following the release of the first Balloon Fight level hack, Cosmic Balloon Assault. It came about from discussion about a Board 2 collaborative hack as a suggestion for an initial project that would hopefully be less involved to familiarize participating members and get their hacking hands dirty to help build experience. However, the majority of the physical hacking for this project was performed by Quick Curly. Even so, multiple people contributed level designs to this hack.

There are 16 new Phases (compared to the original count of 12) and no Bonus Phases. With this situation, now there are no "healing intermissions". In the original game, the Bonus Phases would restore the 2 balloons for each player. Now, the balloon fighters will face the ultimate survival challenge! However, to account for this situation, the balloon fighters both start out with 20 extra lives instead of the usual 2.

This hack uses the BPS patching format. Please download the beat utility by byuu and refer to the readme file for appropriate patching instructions.

There is also an additional patch to disable the Bonus Phases for the original Balloon Fight game for those who would enjoy such an option.
