The third game in the Fire Emblem series, it is divided into two sections known as "books":

Book 1, which is a cut down port of the first Fire Emblem game. Although the plot of the game is basically the same, several chapters and characters were removed due to space limitations.

Book 2 is the sequel to Book 1 and by extension the first Fire Emblem. It follows Marth as he deals with some of the ramifications of Book 1, and battles new threats as they come up across the land.

The game is known for including features such as dismount, where units on horses had to get off of them for indoor chapters, and being the first Fire Emblem game to show movement ranges when a unit is selected.

Biraku Emblem poses the question: "What if Nina married Marth instead of Hardin?" With that premise, the story of Book 2 is told with Biraku as the main protagonist. Book 1 is the more advanced hack, with several fully custom maps included and those pre-existing maps largely rearranged in some way to provide a new experience while playing them.

Changelog:
*Recruitable characters have significantly changed.
*Character relationships have somewhat changed.
*Enemy placement and strength has been slightly changed.
*Village and chest rewards and shop contents have been completely changed.
*Some item effects have been changed.
*Character levels do not reset on promotion. Biraku is an exception to this.
*Levels will quickly cap and there aren't as many reinforcements.
*Reinforcement chance is now always 100%.
*Horsemen can promote with an Orion's Bolt. Hunters can't promote.
*Female mages can no longer promote.
