Game Description:
Super Mario Bros. is a platforming game for the Nintendo Entertainment System released in 1985. When Bowser invades the Mushroom Kingdom, it's up to Mario to stop him and save the Princess.
Hack Description:
The focus of this hack is entirely on level design - can you make every item, enemy, and coin placement meaningful? Difficulty is somewhere around a step up from Lost Levels, verging on kaizo-y with some of the tricks towards the end. Save-states shouldn't be necessary, but it gets pretty tough around world 5, so expect a few game-overs. Remember that you can hold A while pressing Start on the title screen after you game-over to retry from that world.

Features:
[li]Complete hack - all 32 levels remade[/li]
[li]Challenging without being too difficult[/li]
[li]Unique level themes and gimmicks[/li]
[li]Reasonable 1up placement so you don't have to spam load-state[/li]
Very minor language warning at the end, but you may find it's well deserved - if you can make it there, that is. Good luck!

Version 1.1 update:
[li]Some levels changed slightly[/li]
[li]Hidden 1ups added to each -1 stage (no coins required from a previous -3 stage)[/li]
[li]First warp zone is now trickier to access[/li]
[li]Text changed.[/li]
Lore for nerds: The Princess is tired of Mario simping on her, so she flees through a series of increasingly difficult worlds to escape him.
