Hack Description:
Changelog
[li]1.1 - Color palette VASTLY improved. The colors look almost identical to the SMS version now.[/li]
This hack combines Wonder Boy with Adventure Island Abridged.
[li]The sprites are now Wonder Boy, not Takahashi Meijin/Master Higgins (manually copied from "Wonder Boy" with YYCHR)[/li]
[li]Only the player's hair color was modified, all other colors are identical ("Wonder Boy" had a modified palette intended for systems with an RGB PPU such as the PlayChoice-10, it looked really bad on a normal NES or Famicom)[/li]
[li]The game is only 9 levels long, but the hardest ones were chosen[/li]
[li]Continues are available after all lives are lost[/li]
[li]Many easier settings in ARRANGED mode[/li]
[li]The title screen was modified to be more vanilla[/li]
In case you didn't know, Hudson HAD the right to use the original Wonder Boy sprites, but decided to replace them with Takahashi Meijin, whose relevance outside of Japan is null. Therefore, there are only two reasons the sprites are the same across all regions - either someone thought the character design was better than the original (it isn't) or someone was too lazy.
