Game Description:
Final Fantasy is a role playing game for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Hack Description:
This is another little-known Final Fantasy patch, this time a retranslation and restoration of the original game! Now, there are other means of playing an uncut rendition of this game such as...well, Final Fantasy Origins, but this is for those who want to play through the original NES game. You're one of those people, right?
Technically, this would be considered a hack rather than a standard translation, as the author only changed things to give it the spirit of the Japanese version rather than look back and personally retranslate the text - name-wise, things are closer to the original version, but in terms of dialog the author only changed things that he knew were changed. In addition, all graphics altered for the North American release (and beyond) were changed back to their Japanese counterparts. I don't think the enemy formations were reverted, however.
Note that there are a few glitches such as the curser covering some of your selection. This hasn't been extensively bug-tested and has apparently been discontinued. Regardless, from what I can tell, it works fine. So if you ever wanted to play an English version of Final Fantasy with Beholder, topless Medusas, pentagrams and crosses, now's your chance.
