| Super Mario 3D World remains one of my favorite Mario games. Everything about it gives it a unique touch when comparing it to other games in the franchise.
Graphics: 10 The graphics are absolutely amazing, being colorful and vivid just like a Mario game should be (not that others aren't). There are many little details that make a huge difference, such as the wet effect after the characters get out of the water. Sound: 9 The orchestrated soundtrack is stellar, with many tracks that became iconic on the franchise. My favorite out of all the songs in the game is Double Cherry Pass. Gameplay: 9 The gameplay is equally great. The characters have different attributes derived from Super Mario Bros. 2, like Luigi being able to jump higher but has low acceleration, and Peach being able to float. The characters playing differently gives more variety to the gameplay, which is something many Mario games never bother to do. Overall: 9 I was questioning if I was going to give it a 9 or 10 but I chose a 9 since there's games on the Mario series I like more. Overall, this game is absolutely amazing. |
