| Hello, thanks for reading my lil 'ol review! It's 5AM while writing this so I'll be as thorough as my sleep-deprived brain can be.
Graphics: 9 The graphics are quite good! They're not super-realistic, but they have a kind of nostalgic charm that you can only ever find on this game. They can look quite niche compared to current releases, but this is quite good for its time! I would definitely recommend the graphics to those who love charm and whatnot over realistic graphics. Sound: 10 The music is PERFECT, 10,000/10. Each theme that plays every hour has its own unique instruments and vibes. 7PM is oddly intense for some reason? Idk why, but try to avoid playing at that hour because that theme lowkey scared me as a kid ?. The sound effects are good too!! The crunch when you step on grass, the *tnkh* sound when you run on rock, it's all amazing. My personal favorite is probably the sound of the door opening. Idk why, it just feels nice to my ears. Gameplay: 9 Relaxing, peaceful, whatever, this game is a quiet game. It has so much charm, so much life, you get to build your own island, and do basically whatever you want with it. It can get a bit grind-y at parts, and you have to timeskip or wait for the next day a lot. Definitely a lot of fun, though! The reason I'm not giving a ten here is because of the grinding, first of all, which takes a few months, as I've already established. The second reason is that it has less freedom than the most current game at the time of writing (New Horizons). You can't place furniture outside, and you can't connect with others unless you have Pretendo. Although, I hope that doesn't stop you! It's definitely a nice little thing to have on your PC, phone, 3DS, whatever you use, that feels like yours. Yours to do whatever you want without fear of someone else trying to take charge. I love this game so much, it's so calming to me. Overall: 8 I can't give a 9 or 10 because of the two 9's, but don't let those lesser scores distract you. This is still a very fun game, one that I'm proud to have. I ended up not liking my town on the 3DS but didn't wanna delete it for nostalgia reasons (and because I have over a million bells) so I downloaded it so I could have it on my PC to create a completely new town. I love love love this game so much, the only downside is that some days it gets a bit boring. But with that out of the way, that concludes my review!! Thank you so much for reading. |
