Re: Add torrent option

I understand that the website is supported through advertisements. But there will always be some users that will use adblockers. I just dont want to see the website be shut down even though its been around for decades. Its always a possibility and if torrenting would allow it to run for less maintenance then that is a great option in my opinion.
One example I can think of is the Myrient archive which got shut down because of economical reasons and now the Minerva archive which has taken its place now exclusively uses torrenting to share it. However, Myrient was several hundreds of terabytes worth of data and im assuming Vimm isnt as large.
Perhaps if the website detects an adblocker it could recommend the user to torrent instead? Just my two cents.
This has been discussed several times before, and I don't think it's going to happen. As explained in previous discussions, one of the main reasons is that torrents eventually become abandoned, and they don't fit with how this website operates.
In short, you'll need to download games one by one. Also, keep in mind that part of the website is supported by ads, so it's better to keep it this way. Please don't block the ads if you want to help support Vimm.
