You might need the latest DirectX drivers as well.  You would have to install the Web Installed to get those.  If you're certain the latest DirectX is installed try deleting the Snes9x.cfg file with your emulator and then booting snes9x up again.
If that doesn't work you might want to try ZsnesW instead.

Just downloaded the snes em on my new computer, and here's the error I get when I try to play a game: "Unable to initialize Audiox2. You will not be able to hear any sound effects or music while playing. It is usually caused by not having recent Directx".
The game isn't loading at all and I just downloaded the newest Directx. Still no luck. Suggestions?
