I'd be pretty sad actually, knowing that my life here is meaningless and insignificant if I'm just a piece of crap compared to my "whole" self in heaven. It's like you're saying that people with problems or disabilities should just give up and live pointless lives only for the fact that they can dance around in heaven with God when they die and become superleet. Suicide should not be frowned upon; it's just a shortcut to God. It should even be encouraged for all people of faith, don't you think? "Mass suicides 1st of every month. All welcome, bring a friend or two."
I think a person with mental or physical handicaps can live a much more meaningful and evocative life than anyone with a "perfect" body... great hair, broad shoulders, straight spine, sharp reflexes, etc. Look at Stephen Hawking.
He loves us all no matter what. But he's not changing any of us. The fact that we lost something coming to this earth and then regainging that something once we die is proof that God loves us. Wouldn't you be happy knowning that you might be whole again when you die?
