Not wanting to pry, but I'm curious what the story is re: that.
From what I've read, "Zone Alarm" will probably fill the bill. It's not a brand new program, so it shouldn't be riddled with problems you see in brand-new releases. I don't know how well it runs in Windows 7, though; I'm not messing with it because I intend to change OSs.
