Sound issues with ZSNES

Hi there. I was curious if anyone else has had weird sound issues with ZSNES. I'm able to get sound, that's no problem, but lately I've noticed a lot of weird crackling and popping in the music. It's worse when the music only has a few instruments playing in it, and I think the worst I've heard it is in the "Dragon Quest I and II" ROM. I've tried fooling with all the settings and it never seems to get any better. Anyone else have this problem? "Go, then. There are other worlds than this."
